Perdue calls for session limits, redistricting commission, and application of public records law to General Assembly

In a presentation this morning to the General Assembly, Gov. Beverly Perdue has called for:

• legislative session limits (90 days in odd-numbered years and 45 days in even-numbered years),
• an independent redistricting commission that would prepare the next set of election maps, and
• application of state public-records laws to the work of the legislature.
