For some state politicians, government isn’t spending enough.  To allegedly improve faith in the political system, they want local politicians to be able to use your property taxes and sales taxes (among other local taxes and fees) for their own personal uses–specifically to help them get elected.

HB 120, a bill that would authorize local government officials to provide themselves political welfare, may be voted on (third reading) as soon as tomorrow.  The proponents of the bill keep pushing off the vote because they know that there is opposition to the bill–but the numbers are close.  So, without regard to ethics, bill proponents are waiting to pass a bill when they have just the right amount of proponents around to vote on the bill.
