Rock the Vote, the youth-voter engagement nonprofit, is planning to rock the hardest in five crucial states before the 2010 midterm elections: Colorado, Florida, Ohio, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
Rock the Vote officials said in a conference call Tuesday that since May, the group’s coordinators and volunteers had been organizing voter-registration drives and get-out-the-vote events – like the concerts and festivals it’s best known for – as well as voter-registration drives at schools in the five target states. Students at North Carolina State University, for example, will receive a letter on move-in day from the band Good Charlotte, urging them to register to vote.
