From the Federal Times comes the results of a U.S. Postal Service audit. Gosh, I can’t imagine why they’re losing boatloads of money. And it’s not the first time this problem has been uncovered.
The report is the latest in a series in recent years to find problems with the Postal Service’s controls over overtime hours. Out of a dozen post offices and plants visited by the IG’s staff in this case, the amount of unauthorized overtime hours last year ranged from 15 percent to 98 percent of total overtime worked, the report said.
It’s well past time to bid out daily mail delivery to private firms.
