Henderson County recently announced it would give its citizens another chance to say yes to a state-approved tax option. Haywood County chose not to offer its residents the option in November, but now its commissioners are asking why they can’t put both options, a 0.4% land transfer tax and a 0.25-cent sales tax, on the ballot in May. Haywood County Commissioners have explicitly stated their intent to launch one of those tax-funded propaganda campaigns known as “educating the voters.” It looks like the John Locke Foundation needs to write another report.
