While none of their North Carolina colleagues would vote against the defunding of ACORN in the U.S. House today, David Price and G.K. Butterfield cast supporting votes for the disgraced community organizing operation with ties to President Obama. Mel Watt, taking a cue from the president’s brief tenure in the U.S. Senate, voted “present.”
Voting for the amendment to defund ACORN, which has been exposed as aiding and abetting crime in several sensational videos in the past week, were Republicans Walter Jones, Virginia Foxx, Howard Coble, Sue Myrick, and Patrick McHenry. Democrats voting to defund the controversial organization were Bob Etheridge, Mike McIntyre and Brad Miller.
