Children in Oregon with subsidized private insurance were more likely to go to a doctor’s office than those with traditional SCHIP who were more likely to go to a hospital clinic.

Similar benefits are available in the private sector as in Medicaid and SCHIP at a lower price.

Armed with all of these facts, the governor and legislature still want to subsidize people to buy into Medicaid instead of private coverage.

We already knew they had little regard for the health of markets. I guess they don’t care much about the health of poor people, either.
