The Orange County commissioners have made it clear they want a 1/4 cent hike in the local sales tax, and they’re pushing the item toward the November ballot. Next step is a public hearing on April 5.

The Orange County Board of Commissioners will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 during its regularly scheduled meeting at the Department of Social Services Office in Hillsborough Commons, 113 Mayo St. in Hillsborough.  The meeting starts at 7:00 p.m.

The Public Hearing will provide an opportunity for the public to comment on potential uses for possible proceeds from a one-quarter cent (1/4¢) additional sales tax referendum in Orange County.
