For the past 40 years you couldn’t swing a dead cat without hitting a left-winger wearing a “Question Authority” button. I remember going to see folksinger Tom Paxton, one of my favorite singers in the ’60s, at a performance in Durham. He was probably 45 years old at the time and he was wearing a “Question Authority” button on his shirt, which struck me as odd for an actual adult. Still he gave a great performance.
I’ve noticed, though, that lefties, who used to question everything anyone in authority had to say, have become strangely quiet since November. Suddenly the authorities can do no wrong, even when whittling away our freedoms. If Tom Paxton came back to Durham would he wear the button above, as he did when Reagan was president, or would he wear this one now?:
