I disapprove of the policy of spending class time, or even extracurricular school club time, raising awareness about drugs. I tell the story of how when I was in school we had posters of presidents and astronauts on the walls to inspire us to achieve big. When I went to work for an inner-city high school, one of the student-made posters said, “Don’t do durgs.” Speaking strictly of posters, us kiddinks had a choice: Do you want to pursue law or science? The inner-city kiddinks were asked: Do you want to do drugs or not?
