“Ayn Rand: A Fence of Life” will be presented at Firestorm Café and Books in Asheville, Monday, at 7:30pm. The event will discuss the controversial works of Rand and include a discussion on the flaws of laissez-faire capitalism. Its organizers bill it as being reactionary to BB&T’s recent offerings to colleges made conditional upon the creation of a Distinguished Chair in Capitalism and a curriculum that includes excerpts from Rand’s Atlas Shrugged. Firestorm is downtown, behind the big, purple Thirsty Monk building. The event is free to members of the public.
