Delvin Barrett, author of the AP article linked in Michael’s LR post, really doesn’t have a clue. He states:
“New York has always preferred its Republicans in the mold of the late Gov. Nelson Rockefeller _ socially liberal and fiscally conservative.”
As someone who grew up in New York during the Rockefeller era, I can attest that, while Rocky was called a lot of things, “fiscally conservative” was never among them.
