We do understand, do we not, that corporate taxes are taxes on shareholders and other investors, as well as on employees, and that they will also affect consumer prices of products. I’m not for celebrating taxes on anyone, or making the interpersonal comparisons about worthiness that the original “envy” complaint implies.

As for the relative fairness of the taxes that fall on one group directly vs. the other group directly, 1) I doubt that the bums’ and the fat cats’ financial interests can be separated that neatly, and 2) this is not a discussion that is productive, since ultimatley the taxation decision is based on an arbitrary criteria (like only G-K last names pay taxes–yes!), even if enacted in the name of “fairness.”

The further down we dive into the fairness pool, the murkier the solutions become.
