Well I have three Films that are unknown to a lot of people, and they were all filmed in Western North Carolina.  Theses Films probably received very little if any “INCENTIVES” from the NC Film Commission since it wasn’t developed until 1980, so that?s a plus right there, let the market work in film making.

 1. Thunder Road: This 1958 classic on a mountain past time, Bootlegging, is an all time black and white classic of mine and you just have to see it to get a deeper understanding of why people in parts of the Mountains resent government so much.

2. Being There: A Peter Sellers film that was made at the Biltmore Estate in 1979, and a Peter Sellers’ film can explain itself.

3.  Davey Crockett: Was filmed in 1955 in Cherokee at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park Mountain Farm (Museum) Stead, and its just a classic that tells the story of a great mountain man that fought for what he believed.
