Anyone else think it’s strange that the City of Greensboro dumps the appointment of Dwight Crotts to interim police chief on a Friday afternoon before a holiday weekend?

Guarino digs into Crotts’ role in the David Wray controversy as documented in Jerry Bledsoe’s Cops in Black and White series.

I haven’t read where Crotts is being considered for police chief upon Tim Bellamy’s retirement at the end of the month —let me know if I’m wrong. I personally think an outsider —male or female, black or white —– with a fresh perspective is the right move, and Guarino’s absolutely right when he says the city has had plenty of time to recruit a new chief since Bellamy announced his retirement.
