John, speaking of “gut-tickling” comments about the mass exodus of county commissions from all over the state to attend the Hawaii convention, your June 15 Daily Journal about the trip contains what I think is a hilarious reaction to an otherwise unfunny story, especially for those of us who grew up longing to be both Ginger and Mary Ann.

“Which is not to say that I defend spending the taxpayers? money to send squads of commissioners off to any Pacific island ? unless of course it was Gilligan?s Island, it was a one-way trip, and I got to pick the commissioners.”
