According to Brian Lewis of the N.C. Association of Educators (NCAE), school districts have few reasons to complain about education funding. No need to fear, stimulus is here. (I suppose this means that members of the General Assembly can keep their campaign funds.)

In an article in today’s N&O, Lewis said,

Wake County is receiving over $43 million in federal stimulus dollars over two years. These taxpayer funds are intended to protect the classroom from harmful cuts and to specifically save education jobs.”

Of course, Wake County school officials pointed out that the stimulus money runs out in two years. They have decided to use stimulus money to fund temporary positions.
