George, we’ve heard for years that the average college graduate has a much greater lifetime earning potential than the average non-graduate.
If that’s true, are people mistaking a correlation for a causal relationship? In other words, are too many people going to college with the impression that a degree automatically translates into larger paychecks — regardless of their effort level, course of study, and prospective career field?
