Now Chad, you can’t blame light rail for that. The derailment was due to one of the earth-destroying SUVs:
GLENDALE, Calif. (AP) — Officials say it appears a vehicle was deliberately placed on the railroad tracks in suburban Los Angeles, triggering Wednesday morning’s deadly train derailment.
Los Angeles Sheriff Lee Baca said authorities are speaking with the driver of the Jeep Cherokee and believe he intentionally parked the SUV on the tracks in Glendale, Calif., before leaving the scene.
Baca said it doesn’t appear that the vehicle had stalled at the railroad crossing.
So it’s not a rail problem, it’s an SUV problem. Or maybe a parking issue, we’ve got those too.
