Joe,

There really is nothing added. It’s not just those
newspapers but the majority of the smaller, weekly newspapers in
general. From my experience the smaller, weekly newspapers don’t like
to “rock the boat” thus to keep their relationship with elected leaders
in the community. The stories they run are often what you would find at
the Chamber of Commerce or the typical government is good articles that
elected leaders would love run on a daily basis. The papers that I’m
more familiar with in West Virginia,
the philosophy was to give the readers “positive” news and promote the
community. That is fine, but by doing so you often dumb-down what is
going on and don’t give the reader the true story of what is taking
place.
