George, thanks for the link. One of the comments added to my article, by a fellow writing under the moniker “eon,” is worth passing along:
I have to say [Obama’s speech] reminded me of nothing so much as the Imperial Ambassador in the first part of Isaaac Asimov’s “Foundation”. That is, he “said not one damned thing, and said it so cleverly that no one noticed.”
