Sen. Linda Garrou, D-Forsyth, the Senate Appropriations chair, brought the budget bill (Senate Bill 202) to the floor this afternoon, from which it was scheduled to be sent to the Senate Pensions and Retirement Committee and then to the Senate Finance Committee.

Both committees were slated to meet this afternoon so the budget could return to the Senate floor for a second-reading vote tomorrow and third reading Thursday.

The hot potato then gets passed over to the House.

Still no word on the mystery taxes.
