That reminds of something that happend in Morgantown, W.Va., while I was in college. A “group of concerned” citizens jumped on the anti-Wal-Mart bandwagon out of a concern for an ancient Indian burial ground that was near the proposed building site.

There were protests and marches, one that even included a demonstration/rally at the county courthouse. All of this because they, the protestors, didn’t want the extra traffic on the road and to hurt the burial ground. Now, a little note about the road in question — it is one of the main highways to get to Mountaineer Field on Saturdays. The local grocery worker unions even got involved wanting to protect those poor, victims of Wal-Mart’s evil non-union ways. Note the sarcasim.

As I’m sure it is with every state and Wal-Mart development, this example is just like the others. However, Vermont has got to take the cake.
