Paul–the article you linked to could be misleading, as are the reports featured in the Raleigh media. The code oranges for our area would be reported in the media as Raleigh having a code orange day, even though the monitors that exeeded the high ozone threshold were well outside the city limits. In fact, except for one, they were not even in wake county. While I don’t know what the story is for Atlanta, we shouldn’t jump to conclusions. Just because it is reported that Atlanta has had a code red day (actually it was a forcast not a report) that the city actually had a problem. All that has to happen is for one remote monitor to trip and the entire SMSA is painted with the same high ozone brush.
