In the late 1980s, I heard Thomas Sowell speak at Northern Arizona University. He mentioned he was working on a book that described the influence of intellectuals on society because he thought Paul Johnson’s book Intellectuals was too kind to them. If you have read Johnson’s devastating critique, you would know that topping it would be some feat. I am glad to see he has finished it and I am looking forward to reading it.
