No strong reaction yet to Special Master Nathaniel Persily’s draft redrawn North Carolina legislative districts in response to the federal lawsuit alleging racial gerrymandering.
Legislators say they need time to study Persily’s map, but comments from those impacted are expected by the end of this week with a Dec. 1 deadline for Persily’s final recommendation.
However, there is one interesting recommendation —one that would have have the News & Record trembling with anticipation—Sens. Trudy Wade and Gladys Robinson are in a redrawn District 27. See, the N&R don’t like Sen.
Wade, and would love nothing more to see her challenged as a result of a court-ordered redistricting.
