There is exquisite comic timing (albeit purely unintentional) in this opening paragraph:

Wait just a second before letting the other shoe drop. Savor the notion of Alex Jones et al. attacking anyone or anything for “conspiratorial junk.” Ah.
Now, to the rest of the sentence:
… and diverts focus from the real conspiratorial agendas that are unfolding before our own eyes not on a movie screen or a fictional paperback but in reality.
