I second Michael’s recommendation. George Will does a wonderful job of exposing not only the boorishness of Webb, but also his poor writing ability.
Writing just after the election in The Wall Street Journal, Webb let loose with a hyperbole- drenched screed in which he said that America has become so top-heavy with superrich people over the last 25 years that it’s “literally another country.”
Either Webb (or, more likely, his speech writer) needs to find out what the word “literally” means. Read Will’s article for the fun he has with that.
