225 veterans attended a Stand Down organized by the Charles George VA Medical Center, Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry, and Buncombe County staff. Saith the local daily:
Veterans received food, clothing and health screenings, as well as referrals to other assistance programs such as health care, housing solutions, employment, substance use treatment and mental health counseling.
