WCHL has several fascinating comments from soon-to-be House Minority Leader Joe Hackney (D-Orange). Based on his statement that cutting government is “very damaging” and that Democrats value education more than Republicans do, it should be a fascinating year in the General Assembly.

My question to Rep. Hackney is this: Without cutting government, exactly how do you propose to address the results of the multi-year spending sprees championed under your leadership, which have led to next year’s $3.7 billion gap between what the state anticipates it will receive in revenues and what it wants to spend? I’d love to have Rep. Hackney’s answer on the record for all to hear and see.
