The N&R reports Horse Pen Creek neighborhood residents are asking a judge to review the Guilford County Board of Commissioners’ decision allowing Ricky Proehl’s sports park:
Without naming them, the neighbors allege that three of the commissioners made up their minds before a hearing on the project and that a fourth has a business relationship with the attorneys working for developers. Those things should have disqualified the four commissioners, the suit alleges.
I watched the meeting when the decision on Proehlific Park was rendered. Based on the lack of discussion among commissioners after many emotional pleas from Horse Pen Creek residents, it seemed to me that all nine county commissioners had their minds made up.
