I’ve enjoyed the thoughtful, instructive and defining (thanks, Drew) rebuttals to my News & Observer column in support of same-sex marriages. And given that I have a 5 p.m. public appointment to debate Carolina Journal’s Paul Chesser on the subject today on WPTF’s “The Jerry Agar Show,” I’m keeping my powder dry. Despite the eloquence and thoughtfulness put forth in postings to this blog, it still leaves us with a society that will grant a marriage license — and by extension the sanction to raise children — to the most immoral, dishonest and adulterous heterosexual, yet deny the same privilege to a religious, honest and monogamous homosexual. That’s not right. More at 5 p.m. on the Agar show.
