Writing on the von Mises site, econ professor D.W. MacKenzie takes on a screed by a law professor (who clearly understands almost nothing about economics) in which she contends that the arguments used against increasing the minimum wage are merely “economics lite” and the creations of nefarious right wing think tanks. You can read MacKenzie’s excellent piece here, with links to the offending screed and much serious analysis on the issue of the minimum wage.

The author of the screed, one Ellen Dannin of Wayne State University, doesn’t realize that economists were arguing against the minimum wage long before there WERE any think tanks at all.

Also, I wonder what she would say if someone pointed out to her (perhaps Walter Williams) that the apartheid regime in South Africa used to maintain high minimum wages in order to protect white workers against black competition. That is a very inconvenient fact for minimum wage advocates.
