Funny, about that stimulus money for local roads, Charlotte is on the short end — again.
Tiny, dysfunctional Durham is somehow getting $7m. in “free” money while big, sophisticated Charlotte is stuck with $4m. — or almost 60 percent less than what Durham is getting.
I think Charlotte should consider firing its lobbyists who are obviously underperforming. But Charlotte being Charlotte the city will probably hire new, more expensive lobbyists — and keep the old ones too.
Bonus Observation: Might the bestest path be to forget about lobbyists and “free” money altogether and get back to basics?
