Bad news for the John Locke Foundation’s staff turned into good publicity for President John Hood in the past week when nationally syndicated radio star Rush Limbaugh quoted Hood on the air. Limbaugh read Hood’s entry on National Review Online’s main blog, “The Corner,” discussing the impact of ObamaCare on the private company that has provided the Locke Foundation’s health insurance coverage. Lucianne.com, the New Media Blog, Conservative Refocus News, and Arizona Right to Win also cited that entry. Another “Corner” entry on scandal-plagued James O’Keefe attracted attention from the WEB Commentary site. Hood also helped direct “Corner” readers to Carolina Journal Online in an entry discussing the Alliance for Bonded Term Limits. In addition to his writing for NRO, Hood’s recent National Affairs article on Medicaid attracted attention this week from Reason magazine’s “Hit & Run” blog. The Associated Press interviewed Hood for a story about the State Board of Education’s decision to scrap a test used to decide whether students can advance from one grade to the next in North Carolina’s public schools. N.C. Senate Republicans also promoted Hood’s column on University of North Carolina mismanagement problems.
