After decades of Union produced vehicles and playing on our home field, by our rules, imports still dominate the safety spectrum of the U.S. car market (so says the U.S. Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.) In fact imports took all 13 categories.
Could it be that freedom to produce and compete saves lives? So it would seem. One would hope that there would be an outcry from Union presidents nationally to produce safer cars “for the kids”. Keep in mind, these are the same unions (along with the teachers union, another failed entity) that contributed $2 million to the left’s elections in NC this year alone to preserve the status quo and stifle innovation.
When you see that the left is so good at giving to political endeavors and so poor at giving to charity, you soon realize that ultimately, the goal is socialism, not charity. Through government action, the left can force causes to be funded rather than Americans having a choice about what to fund. It kind of gives a new take on the entire concept of “greed.” In truth, by supporting folks that can ultimately take your income in the form of taxes, they see a far better way to get their causes funded.
