Update on the issue of out-of-state folks — often illegal immigrants — using fake North Carolina addresses to get vehicle registrations and tags for their cars, that would be made a felony by a bill now in the General Assembly. Turns out the N.C. Department of Insurance has noticed the problem.
To the insurance enforcement guys it is an issue of people ditching high-cost insurance states like New Jersey for North Carolina. Whatever. Just fix the the DMV, which does not seem to think there is much of a problem.
