Allegations of really bizarre behavior on the part of a counselor emerge in this lawsuit filed by former Elon Elementary teacher Gina Witz against the Alamance-Burlington school system:
In the lawsuit, Wintz claims that on Feb. 18, the school counselor “suffered some type of psychotic episode” and took Wintz’s 6-year-old son from his kindergarten class and ordered him into a car with her husband, who was represented as the 6-year-old’s father.
“Once the plaintiff became aware of the situation, she rushed out to the automobile and, on the advice of another fellow employee, she entered the automobile and drove it,” the lawsuit states. “(Wintz) reasonably and understandably was under the belief that she and her 6-year-old son were being abducted.”
In its response to Wintz’s allegations, the school system acknowledges that in February Wintz briefly drove her son in a “Jeff Gordon” car that belonged to an Elon Elementary staff member. The purpose of the drive was to reward the boy for progress in school.
….Wintz claims the incident had a serious impact on her son, who has not seen his father in six years. She said the school counselor was allowed to remain at the school the rest of the day and that the counselor “foamed at the mouth, handed money out to several children, hugged several children and said various things that did not make sense.” The school system denied the claims.
Weird.
