Stop the presses! Hold the phone! Kick the cat!

Mecklenburg County commissioners Dumont Clarke, Norman Mitchell, and Wilhelmenia Rembert want a school bond package to be on the ballot for November! No kidding.

Let’s decide if school bonds are supposed to fund the needs of the school system or function as get-out-the-vote proxies for Democratic office seekers.

And you can’t tell me that the Charlotte Chamber of Commerce announcing that it wants to get out of the bond-selling business is unrelated to this aspect of local politics.

Update: I see this connection is not exactly a secret among those who have watched the school funding debate up close.
