That’s a big issue in Charlotte, following a recommendation from a study group that the school should get into big-time intercollegiate football.

An econ professor I had long ago who had spent a lot of time on Puerto Rico once said that the island “goods delightful from a distance, but once you get there, ugh!” I suspect that UNCC’s experience with football would be similar.
