Winston-Salem is doing Greensboro one better for a change.

Last week, Guilford County commissioners held a special last-minute meeting to put a quarter-cent sales tax hike on the November ballot.

If you think that’s dramatic, check this out: Forsyth County commissioners will hold a special meeting at Baptist Medical Center so Commissioner Beaufort Bailey —- still recovering from surgery for an intestinal blockage —- can cast a vote to put a $40 million library bond on the ballot.

As commenter ‘Rednek’ points out, commissioners aren’t going to such extremes so Bailey can vote ‘no.’
