Farm chemicals have seeped into well water in the little community of Dana. If evil libertarians had their way, he who polluted would be held responsible. Since we don’t have our way, taxpayers can pool the risk, encouraging fast-and-loose operators to be careless with toxins, so we can then hyper-regulate everybody and make them jump through weird hoops so nobody is treated unequally with precautions appropriate for their unique situations.
P.S. It is very kind and courteous of the taxpayers to help the victims in this situation.
