Here’s the vote for the smoking ban bill.  It still has to pass a third reading.

The vote was 75-42, so there were members of both parties that supported the bill.

The bill did get amended so that public places and places of employment that do not serve minors or allow entry of minors may still allow smoking (under certain conditions, such as if they provide clear notice).

This is still a terrible bill and an attack on property rights–many businesses, including many restaurants and private clubs will be forced to ban smoking.

As to Jeff’s question about ABC-licensed clubs that allow 16 year-olds in for certain shows, my understanding of the language is that these clubs would have to choose: ban smoking at all times or no longer allow minors in the establishment.
