Could be. And it might be Charlotte. Southwest Airlines Chief Executive Gary Kelly said Wednesday that there are “decent odds” that the start service to a third airport next year. It has already announced it will begin service to Minneapolis-St. Paul in March and New York’s LaGuardia Airport over the summer.

The major markets Southwest isn’t in, by size: Atlanta, Charlotte, Cincinnati, Memphis, and Milwaukee.

Major airports Southwest doesn’t serve but Southwest are otherwise in that market (broadly defined) that are also possibilities: Boston, Miami, Newark, New York (JFK), and Washington Reagan. (They also don’t serve ORD, DFW, and IAH but those aren’t the answer.)
