…what is Mayor Pat McCrory hiding? Why did he freak out over requests for city manager and city council emails?
Better still, why is city attorney Mac McCarley hiding behind the supposed high cost of complying with the request? I am no propeller head, but I guarantee that someone in the city’s large and expensive IT department can perform a bounded search on an email server.
If not — that’s a story right there. But in terms of getting the info out, I bet someone out there within the sound of my keyboard would volunteer their time to write-up a little search function from scratch if need be and pull the emails out for the hapless city.
Then it is just a matter of McCarley and his staff reviewing them. Whole thing shouldn’t take more than a day.
