Tara Servatius takes a whack at explaining CATS’ serial fraud on local taxpayers we’ve been in orbit about and scores hits on her targets.
But to be brutally honest, it just does not matter. It does not matter because their exists nothing that can stand in the way of the greatly reduced but still massive combined weight of the Chamber, the Uptown paper, the banks, Duke Energy, the developers, the Realtors, the special transit interests and the co-opted non-profit sector, led by Center City Partners.
Well, except for the truth. But the truth will only halt this lunacy come the brutal finality of bankruptcy. And looming bankruptcy is precisely the last arrow in the status quo’s gloom-and-doom quiver. Watch it get deployed in 2009.
