The Haywood Regional Medical Center has lost its Medicare certification. Details are not available, but evidently an inordinate number of patients had been getting the wrong meds. In addition, reports are saying the hospital was cited for problems with its “governing body, quality assessment and preformance [sic.] improvement, nursing services and pharmaceutical services.” Medicare patients are now being turned away, but should others risk their health by stepping into an environment whose risk factors cannot be divulged?
