As Ira Stoll explains here, 17 Democrats in the Senate are suddenly aghast that the medical devices tax written in the massive bill they passed is going to have a harmful impact.
That tax was one of many inserted by the drafters to make it seem that the bill would be “revenue neutral.” That was never even close to true, but now that tax is set to go off with considerable collateral damage.
It seems to me that this situation creates some leverage against Harry Reid.
