Meanwhile, the Winston-Salem Journal reports a state Board of Elections panel voted unanimously to deny former Forsyth County GOP chair Nathan Tabor’s appeal to appear on the May 8 primary ballot as candidate for the 6th Congressional District.

At issue was whether or not Tabor arrived at board offices before the noon Feb. 29 deadline to file. The Winston-Salem Journal reports Tabor “was told by a receptionist that he had made it on time, even though the clock was showing noon.”

Tabor said he plans to run for the 6th District seat in 2014, which is either not that far away or an eternity, depending on how this November’s election turns out.
