I just now picked up this week’s Rhino and it looks like Paul Clark was on the Ragsdale-Jamestown rebid before the Guilford County school board debated the issue at last night’s meeting. It’s not a pretty picture. Bottom line — nobody —-least of all the board —— seems to know why the architect designed a “Taj Mahal” (as board member Garth Hebert described it) for the renovated Ragsdale High School.

Granted, GCS’ construction staff has been disorganized for the past few years, but they’re probably in even worse shape now that chief operating officer Leo Bobdilla is bolting to join his former boss Terry Grier down in Houston. Facilities director Andy LaRowe at least gets credit for stepping in and halting the project before construction. It’s also good to see that the new Jamestown Middle School is near completion.

One thing I found interesting in both the Rhino and N&R accounts —Superintendent Mo Green’s name isn’t mentioned.
